The DELE C2 exam: mastery level in Spanish
The DELE C2 is the highest-level Spanish as a Foreign Language diploma awarded by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of Spain's Ministry of Education. It certifies that the candidate possesses sufficient linguistic competence to communicate effectively in any situation, demonstrating the ability to adapt spontaneously to any context with a high degree of precision.
The exam consists of 3 tests that integrate language skills: Test 1 assesses use of language, reading comprehension, and listening comprehension (105 minutes, 6 tasks); Test 2 combines listening and reading comprehension with written expression and interaction (150 minutes, 3 tasks); and Test 3 integrates reading comprehension with oral expression and interaction (20 minutes plus 30 minutes preparation).
A minimum of 60% is required on each test to pass. The diploma does not expire and is internationally recognized by universities, employers, and government institutions in over 20 Spanish-speaking countries.
